Bentonia, MS, Fire Station Destroyed by Fire

April 7, 2025
Firefighters managed to get one rig out of Bentonia firehouse but it sustained major damage.

The fire that destroyed the Bentonia fire station Saturday night remains under control.

Firefighters from numerous departments responded to the incident.

“I will have to say, the men and women from all over our county and surrounding counties came out to help. That’s what it’s about! Laying aside differences and dividers and just coming together as one to get the job done. I am very proud tonight. Yes we lost our station, but we built something together tonight, something special,” Bentonia Fire Chief Scotty Smith told WJTV.

There was a severe storm in the area at the time.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
